Jason Soles is a Seattle based artist that works in bone, metal, and resin to create dark and macabre sculptures. Apocrypha, published by Strix Publishing, was created as both a portfolio and retrospective of Jason's work.
Because the book was primarily about showcasing Jason's art, I decided on a clean look with generous amounts of whitespace in the same vein as museum coffee table books. With that in mind, I set the type with a bit more than average tracking and used leading to separate paragraphs instead of indentation.
The endpapers are designed with a pattern of alchemical runes colored charcoal on black to stand out against the clean, white pages.
