Project OverviewWho Should We Eat? is a small footprint, lighthearted party game (that plays even better with a couple of beers) from WizKids. The initial request was that it would just be a card game, but after some discussion with the publisher we agreed that the game would be even better if there were scoring boards and tokens.
I was given a lot of freedom to design the look of the game; the only assets were the cover art, character art, and quest art. After reading through the rules it became clear that I would lean in on the "Tiki/Polynesian" style. Many of the graphical elements for the game were hand drawn, scanned, traced, and then manipulated in Adobe Illustrator. This includes the game logo, tiki masks, and paterns. For the resource and ghost cards (red and purple respectively) it was important to me that there be another way besides color to tell the fronts of the cards apart, so I implemented borders that are used throughout the game pieces so that people with different sorts of color-blindness could easily play the game. Finally, this was my first experience setting up a die sheet for tokens for a printer. It was an invaluable experience that gave me knowledge that I now use regularly. |
